Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina would be in Paschim Banga for a two-day visit on May 25-26.

During her visit to Shantiniketan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be there and the two leaders will meet, said a report by www.indiatoday.in.

This would be yet another opportunity when Modi, Hasina and Paschim Banga Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would be together.

While there is a lot of speculation on if there would be any forward movement on 'Teesta' river agreement, senior sources in Bangladesh government are quick to remind us of the statement made by the Indian Prime Minister in April 2017 when he promised an early solution to the vexed issue of Teesta water dispute.

"I firmly believe that it is only my government and excellency Sheikh Hasina, your government that can and will find an early solution to Teesta water sharing," he told the visiting Bangladeshi Prime Minister after the bilateral meeting.
