HONG KONG, Nov 27 (AFP): The death toll from a fire that tore through a Hong Kong apartment complex has risen to 75, the city's government said late on Thursday.
As of 10 pm (1400 GMT), "the fire incident had killed 75", a government spokesperson told AFP, adding that fire services were treating 76 casualties, including 11 firefighters.
Flames were still visible in some of the eight-building housing estate's almost 2,000 units well over 24 hours after the fire broke out, with crews still spraying water over the blackened exteriors.
Authorities have begun investigating what sparked the disastrous blaze -- the financial hub's worst in almost 80 years.
