FE Report
Dhaka City Corporation conducted an eviction drive Tuesday morning and demolished dozens of makeshift flower shops at Shahbagh in the city, police said.
The DCC team of officials and law enforcers, led by a magistrate, conducted the drive to evict the florists, who had illegally occupied the footpath adjacent to the city's police control room, at 11:00am, Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh police station Rezaul Karim told the FE.
The shopkeepers resisted the DCC drive for sometime saying that they did not get any prior notice to shift their business. They also alleged that flowers worth about Tk 0.25 million were destroyed in the drive.
