The International Monetary Fund (IMF) technical team showed on Thursday how a macroeconomic model that they have proposed for Bangladesh works.
The members of the team made a presentation on the model at their concluding meeting with Bangladesh Bank governor Abdur Rouf Tatukder.
The technical team of the global multilateral lender has been in Dhaka since September 12.
They have so far arrived thrice and trained Bangladesh Bank officials regarding the matter adequately.
The main purpose of the model is to forecast many economic indicators, especially the GDP growth rate and the rate of inflation.
The BB said they would release the data on a quarterly basis. But it will take at least one more year.
