Impasse over 6th wage board will be resolved:

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed said Wednesday the stalemate over announcing the 6th Wage Board award for the news industry will be resolved, reports UNB.
Fakhruddin said this when a delegation of journalists' united forum met him and apprised about the state of country's media.
The 11-member delegation of Bangladesh Sangbadik-Sramik-Karmochari Oikya Parishad led by its co-conveners Mozammel Hoque, Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Fazle Imam called on the Chief Adviser (CA) at his office and discussed with him various matters related to the press.
The CA said he believed that the press is now enjoying freedom and hoped that both the print and electronic media would make objective report availing of the opportunity of helping the government and the people.
He said, "The media is now working as link between the government and the people as there is no parliament now."
The Oikya Parishad leaders apprised the CA of the necessity of wage-board award and demanded immediate announcement of the Oikya Parishad-reviewed and recommended 6th Wage Board Award.
They submitted a memorandum to the Fakhruddin, which contains some demands and recommendations, according the CA's Press Secretary, Syed Fahim Munaim, who was present at the meeting.
The leaders observed that the press is now fully enjoying its freedom and getting support from the caretaker government in this connection.
They thanked the head of caretaker government for withdrawing import duty from newsprint.
The Oikya parishad leaders also requested forming a tripartite committee to monitor whether wage-board award is implemented by the newspaper owners.
Responding to them, the CA said he would look into the matter with serious considerations and discuss it with the Information Adviser for taking necessary steps.
Information Adviser Mainul Hosein, who was present at the meeting, apprised the Chief Adviser that there are some legal problems and a three-member committee comprising secretaries of Law, Information and Finance Ministries has been formed to prepare a report through examining the 6th wage board's recommendations.
