Internet services to be restored soon: Palak

July 22, 2024 00:00:00

Internet services in the country would be restored as soon as possible, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Zunaid Ahmad Palak said on Sunday, reports UNB.

The authorities concerned were trying their best to restore internet services across the country remaining off since Thursday, he said while speaking at a press briefing held at the head office of Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

However, Palak did not mention the exact date or time of restoring internet services.

Noting that the ISP cables in various parts of the country including Mohakhali Data Centre in Dhaka, Narayanganj and Chattogram were burned in a fire set by miscreants during violence over the quota protests, Palak said repair work is going on and internet services will be restored after the repair work.

Broadband internet service across the country remains suspended since 9 pm Thursday while mobile internet from 1 pm the same day, disrupting many essential services.
