A three-day international conference on climate change will begin in the city tomorrow (Monday).
Representatives of 20 countries from least developed, small islands and African countries will participate in the conference.
Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL) coordinator Shirin Akthar said at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Saturday.
Experts will prepare a charter of demands (Dhaka Declaration) to be placed on behalf of the most vulnerable countries at the conference.
Delegates will consult with their respective governments about the demand so that a just and safe international agreement can be reached at the Copenhagen conference in December 2009.
Oxfam Policy and Advocacy Manager Ziaul Haque Mukta, Uganda Country Director Savio Carvalho and Sustainable Development Resource Centre Chairperson Nasimul Haque, among others, spoke at the press briefing.
