Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said on Saturday the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami would get banned soon for its crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation, reports BSS.
"No countries in the world allowed any political party, which opposed its war of liberation, to continue its politics on its soil. We too will not allow it. And it is the appropriate time to ban their politics," he said.
He came up with the observations while addressing a discussion on "Killing of Bangabandhu and the rise of criminals" organised by Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command (MSSC) at the TSC auditorium of the Dhaka University.
Urging the new generation to keep their trust in Sheikh Hasina, the minister said: "Trial of Bangabandhu killing was held, the verdict too was executed in part. The convicts hiding abroad will also be brought to justice."
Presided over by MSSC convener Mahbubul Islam Prince, the function was also addressed by Awami League leader Ahmed Hossain, Muktijoddha Sangsad chairman Major General (retd) Helal Morshed Khan Bir Bikram, Rupali Bank Limited chairman Professor Khandaker Bajlul Haque and others.
