Journalist Hedayet Hossain Morshed passes away

Noted journalist and a former director of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Hedayet Hossain Morshed died of kidney ailment at Kidney Hospital and Dialysis Center in the city Monday night, reports BSS.
Morshed, 65, during his long career, served various prestigious news organisations including now defunct the Dainik Bangla (Dainik Pakistan), the Paygam, the Azad and the Purbodesh.
After serving the Dainik Bangla, he joined the PIB as its director and worked there till retirement. He was also a popular columnist and worked as a freelance journalist for a long time.
He left behind his wife, Hoshney Ara Arju, headmistress of Nazrul Shikkalaya, and his only daughter Dr. Risat Mohajabin Kanta and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He hailed from a respectable Muslim family of Fakirbari Road in Barisal city.
His first Namaj-e-janaza was held at the Jatiya Press Club. A large number of journalists, educationists, intellectuals and cultural activist attended the janaza.
Another Namaj-e-janaz will be held in the afternoon at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque from where his body would be taken to Azimpur graveyard for burial.
