CHATTOGRAM, Sept 14: In an unprecedented move, a judge of Chattogram court has filed a case against two police officials for filing a false case and submitting a false charge sheet to her court.
Judge of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal Ferdous Ara filed the case with metropolitan magistrate Jewel Deb on Tuesday.
The accused in the case are former Sub Inspector (SI) of Patenga Police Station Anwar Hossen and incumbent SI of the station Subir Pal.
Accepting the case, the magistrate concerned issued an arrest warrant against the two police officials.
Khandakar Ariful Alam, public prosecutor of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal-7, said, "On April 22, 2019, SI Anwar Hossen of Patenga Police Station filed a case against a 15-year-old juvenile under the Special Powers Act on the charge of smuggling gold bars." "After the investigation, Subir Pal, another SI of the police station, submitted a charge sheet before the court in October 2019. During the trial of the case, a total of five policemen, including the plaintiff and the investigating officer, gave testimonies in the court," the PP added.
