Special courts set June 21 for giving its judgement in the case against Amanullah Aman and fixed date of the charge hearing case against Mohammad Nasim on June 19. Mosaddeq Ali Falu was Thursday given to second police remand for four days, reports UNB.
The anti-graft makeshift special court at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban set June 21 for giving its judgement in the corruption case against former state minister for labour Amanullah Aman, along with his wife.
After hearing both prosecution and the defence arguments, Judge M Firoze Alam Thursday fixed the date of judgement.
The couple, both detained, was brought before the court during the hearing amid tight security.
According to the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Aman, by abusing power, amassed wealth worth over Tk 100 million. The accused also suppressed facts in his wealth statements submitted earlier to the ACC.
Aman's wife, Sabera Aman, was accused of aiding and abetting her husband in protecting their property acquired "by illegal means."
Meanwhile, the charge hearing in World Tel scam case against former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Nasim of Awami League will be held on June 19.
Judge Shahed Nooruddin of the makeshift special court in Jatiya Sangsad premises set the fresh date as the hearing could not be held in the absence of defense lawyer. Nasim's counsel Anisul Haq had crossed the floor and joined the group of prosecution lawyers.
From the dock Nasim managed to appoint AFM Abdul Wadud as his counsel.
