Kalim Sharafee passes away

Kalim Sharafee, renowned Rabindra Sangeet exponent and cultural revolutionary, passed away at his Baridhara residence Tuesday in the city. He was 86, reports bdnews24.com.
He died from old-age complications.
Rabindra Sangeet singer Tapan Mahmud said that Sharafee's body would be kept in the mortuary until the arrival of his children from abroad.
Sharafee left behind his wife Noushaba Khatun, a son and a daughter to mourn his death.
Actor Ramendu Majumder said that he was the pioneer of Rabindra Sangeet in Bangladesh.
Kalim Sharafee was born in Birbhun village of West Bengal on May 8, 1924. In an eventful life he had held various posts, including founding director of state-run Bangladesh Television.
