Khaleda again asks govt to quit power

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia Friday gave a final call to the government to immediately quit power to avoid an eventual "disgraceful exit" in the face of mass movement, reports UNB. "My longtime experience of the street tells me a tense excitement has been created across the country for another strong mass movement. People are ready," she said at a discussion in the city. The leader of the opposition said everybody can understand what would be the inevitable consequences if such a mass movement started now. She said: "I've a final call to the government before any disaster falls upon them. If you don't want to exit disgracefully, resign immediately and give a mid-term election." Addressing the discussion meeting organised by BNP at the city's Mahanagar Natyamancha in the afternoon marking the Peelkhana massacre on this day in 2009, Khaleda said the inevitable mass upsurge in Bangladesh
