As part of her move to rejuvenate the party's grassroots leaders through district tours, BNP chairperson Khaleda is going to Rajbari today (Saturday) to address a public rally, reports UNB.
The BNP chief will address the rally to be organised by her party-led 19-party alliance on Rajbari Railway ground at 3pm, BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar said.
Khaleda's convoy will leave the capital for Rajbari today morning, he added.
It will be the first public rally of the BNP chief after the national election held on January 5 amid the boycott by her party-led alliance.
Khaleda had been scheduled to address a rally in Rajbari on September 29, 2012 as part of her month-long mass campaign at that time to elicit public support in favour of restoration of the caretaker government system.
But later it was rescheduled and postponed thrice on different grounds. Finally, she is going to address the rally in Rajbari on Saturday.
With her visit to Rajbari, the BNP chief is also initiating the district tour as per the suggestion of her party's standing committee members to rejuvenate the party grassroots leaders who apparently got demoralised following BNP's January-5 polls boycott decision.
Party sources said Khaleda will also visit some other districts soon to make the party men ready and encouraged for waging a successful anti-government movement.
Meanwhile, the 56 teams formed comprising party senior leaders are visiting the party's 75 organisational districts to revitalise the party grassroots leaders and activists alongside monitoring the upazila polls.
