The government has drafted in principle the rules for the Land Crime Prevention and Redress Act 2023 to bring the law under proper enforcement, according to a press release.

Land Secretary Md Khalilur Rahman confirmed this while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on finalising the draft of Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Rules, 2023, in his ministry conference room at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

"The rules will be formulated in such a way that they can be implemented effectively," Khalilur Rahman said.

The law would protect the constitutional rights of the people of the country, he also added.

Chairman of the Land Appeal Board, A K M Shamimul Haque Siddiqui and officials of the land ministry, among others, were present at the programme.

The land secretary also said that the rules would add clarity and explanation for the effective implementation of various sections of the law, including specific guidance for the recovery of illegally occupied land subject to proof of the case.

"Under the direction of land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, the concerned officials are working intensively to formulate the land crime prevention and remedy rules so that the common people can get rid of land-related sufferings by taking advantage of the law," he added.
