Land surveys in old method stopped, digital to continue, JS told

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury on Tuesday scrapped all the ongoing land surveys following old method in the country, reports UNB.

"All the surveys that have already been done are cancelled. I want to confirm this standing in this Parliament," he said.

The minister made the statement in Parliament while passing the Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Bill, 2023 aiming to curb land-related forgeries and offences.

But, he said that the digital survey would continue. Taking part in the discussion some MPs from the opposition bench highly criticised the irregularities in the ongoing land surveys.

Opposition MPs made various complaints in Parliament regarding the land surveys.

"I have also received some complaints recently. Our objective is Bangladesh Digital Survey," he said.
