Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Thursday picked up a Pakistani national in the capital's Chankharpol area for his alleged links with outlawed militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Twenty-five year old Mobassher Shahid alias Mubin or Yahia, was arrested at around 11:30am, Md Kamruzzaman of RAB's legal and media wing said.
"Yahia is a Pakistani citizen and had admitted that he was an active member of LeT and has been living in Bangladesh since 2006 in the guise of businessman," he said and added that the main purpose of the detainee was to recruit members from Bangladesh for the banned militant outfit.
RAB sources alleged that Yahia become the member of the outfit in 1998 and took LeT special trainings in using various types of firearms.
