A housemaid fled with Tk 20,000 and two mobile phone sets after doping three members of a family at the capital’s Segunbagicha Saturday, family sources said.
Hashi Begum (35), the housemaid, mixed sedative with the food she served at breakfast at Flat No 5, House No 6/2 of Segunbagicha.
Farida Begum (45) and her daughter Nabila (22) and son Niloy (16), an O’Level student, fell unconscious soon after taking the food.
Hashi then broke the almirah open and took the cash and two mobile phone sets before fleeing the house, keeping the three locked in the dining room.
Two hours later, half-conscious Nabila, a law student of BRAC University, managed to contact her father, Jamal Uddin, who rushed to the house.
The victims have been admitted to a city hospital, the sources said.
