A man has lost his leg after being hit by a bus on the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the city's Jatrabari area, reports bdnews24.com.
The accident occurred around noon on Saturday, within a month of the accident that led to the death of student Rajib Hossain and accident of Rosina in the capital's Banani.
The victim, Md Russell, 25, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after the accident.
Police chased the bus down and arrested the driver near the National Press Club. The bus was also impounded.
According to the police, Russell was driving his car when it was rammed by a bus on the slopes of Jatrabari flyover. He got out and tried to stop the bus, but the driver first hit him and ran over his leg.
Bachchu Miah, sub-inspector of DMCH Police Camp, told the news agency that Russell's left leg was amputated after locals rushed him to hospital.
He was later transferred to Square Hospital, he said.
