Police have recovered body of an unidentified man from beneath the Mayor Hanif Flyover at Janapad intersection in the capital.
Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Efforts are going on to confirm the deceased's identity, said police sources.
A police official at Jatrabari Police Station said that the deceased aged around 50 was a vagabond type of person.
He said that they (police) received a phone call from 999, rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body on early Saturday and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
The police official quoting local people said that the deceased had been roaming in the area for long time.
He was a person who had led an unconventional lifestyle.
He said that police were suspecting that the man might have died due to illness.
The police officer, however, said that the real cause of the death could be ascertained after getting postmortem report.
The crime scene team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) would ascertain the deceased's identify by using modern technology.
