A Myanmar delegation is scheduled to visit Bangladesh from October 28 to October 30 to discuss the Rohingya repatriation issue.

Led by Myanmar Foreign Secretary Mint Thaw, the delegation will attend the third meeting of the joint working group.

The meeting will review progress in preparations for Rohingya repatriation, said sources at the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry.

"They will discuss the verification process for Rohingyas, and will brief us about the measures taken by the Myanmar government to restore harmony among communities," said a senior official of the foreign ministry.

The delegation will also visit refugee camps in Coxs Bazar to encourage Rohingyas to go back to their home in Rakhine.

Meanwhile, ambassadors and senior representatives of Australia Canada, Denmark, the European Union, France, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America took part in a joint two-day visit to Cox's Bazar on October 8-9.

Organised by the humanitarian agencies working in Cox's Bazar, the delegation met with the local authorities, the heads of UN agencies, national and international NGOs and visited the camps to see firsthand the critical situations faced by the refugees.
