Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz achieved the feat of 2000 runs and 200 wickets during his 104-run knock against Zimbabwe on Day 3 of the second and final cricket Test at Bir Shrestha Matiur Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday, report agencies.

He became the second Bangladesh player to achieve the milestone after Shakib Al Hasan. While Shakib completed this rare double in his 54th Test, Miraz joined the club in 53 rd match.

In first Test against Zimbabwe in Sylhet where he took 10-wicket haul in Bangladesh's three-wicket defeat, he reached 200-wicket club.

In the process he became the sixth fastest to reach the club with Ian Botham (42), Imran Khan (50), Kapil Dev (50), Ravichandran Ashwin (51), and Ravindra Jadeja (53) being the five fastest.

Adjudged the best player of the match and also the series, Miraz said, "I am feeling good. We lost the first match, we had to win this match. The boys were excited (for this match), the commitment…we played as a team".

"Credit goes to the bowlers. Taijul supported me. Tanzim and Hasan Mahmud showed their character and they gave us an opportunity for getting a century. I have also played for so many years. We have a lot of senior players. We have good seniors in the team and they keep supporting, on how to play these conditions. They have lots of experience. If we play together, we are definitely a very good team."
