MJL engineer killed in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Jan 17: Engineer of a private refinery was killed allegedly by 'Malam Party' miscreants in the port-city on Thursday, although the family learnt about his death after two days.
Patenga police said Jyotirmoy Sarkar (51), an engineer of MJL Lubricants, had been missing since Thursday, after he had left for his office at Patenga from CDA residential area.
His wife called him over cell-phone at around 11.30 am on Thursday, two hours after his departure for office. But she found that the cell-phone was not taken by her husband mistakenly.
She phoned to his office, but learnt that Engineer Sarkar had not gone to office till noon. Then she began searching for him, but there was no trace till Saturday morning.
She also lodged a general diary with the police. Patenga OC Shahjahan Kabir said the hospital police had reported that an unidentified body was lying in the morgue. As the family members went to the hospital, they found the dead-body of Engineer Sarkar.
The post-mortem report said he might have been victim of 'Malam Party', and had died of food poisoning.
OC Kabir said local people found him lying unconscious at Patenga sea-beach on Thursday afternoon, and took him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he died at around 6.30 pm on the day.
Engineer Jyotirmoy Sarkar hails from Khulna, and was residing at a hired house on Road-13 of CDA residential area along with the family members.
