Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to visit Bangladesh. Officials from both the countries are trying to find out a 'mutually convenient' date for his visit to Bangladesh.

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran said this while addressing "DCAB talk" at the conference room of the National Press Club on Thursday. "The visit will immensely contribute to the ties between both the countries," he added.

"Whenever the visit takes place, I'm hopeful it will contribute positively to Bangladesh-India relations,"

He said that Prime Minister Modi also invited his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina to visit India. "That invitation has also been accepted," he added. All these high-level visits are now under discussion.

President of Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) Masud Karim presided over the meeting. General secretary Bashir Ahmed was also present.
