Monthlong 30th CITF starts


CHATTOGRAM, Feb 16: The monthlong 30th Chattogram International Trade Fair (CITF) 2023 started at Railway Polo Ground on Thursday.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud MP inaugurated the CITF as the chief guest, while Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Mahbubul Alam chaired the inaugural function.
Dr Hasan Mahmud said, "Now, Bangladesh is a country with GDP of US$ 475 billion. Besides, our per capita income has increased. The leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the cause of the country's economic growth."
"The CCCI has been successfully arranging international trade fair for the last 30 years. The government will allocate a permanent venue for the trade fair. I hope that the CCCI can arrange the fair at the permanent venue from next year," he added.
Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, former president of CCCI M A Latif MP, and FBCCCI President Jashim Uddin addressed the function as the special guests. Chairman of CITF 2023 A K M Akter Hossain also spoke on the occasion.
Leading companies of the country are taking part in the trade fair, which has 20 premier pavilions, 56 premier stalls, 94 gold stalls, 48 mega stalls, 11 food corners, three separate zones, and 400 general stalls. A total of 310 companies are participating in the CITF 2023.
Besides, four other countries - India, Thailand, China and Iran - are taking part in the fair.
The CITF remains open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday for the visitors.
