Mother, daughter killed in N\\\'ganj road crash

NARAYANGANJ, Oct 31 (UNB): A woman and her minor daughter were killed and her another daughter was injured when a truck rammed into a rickshaw carrying them at Missionpara in the city on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Shirin Begum(28), a resident of Khanpur area of Chashara, and her six-year-old daughter Joyeeta.

Witnesses said the accident took place in the area around 10:30 am  when a goods-laden truck heading towards Khanpur from Chashara

knocked down the rickshaw Shirin and her two daughters were riding, leaving the mother and her minor daughter dead on the spot and her another daughter wounded.

Later injured Arpita (11), was rushed to a local hospital.

Enraged by the accident the locals set the killer truck afire.

Being informed, police rushed in and attempted to disperse them.

A chase and counter chase took place between the mob and police.

Shahjalal, inspector of Sadar Model Police Station, confirmed the incident.
