MV Abdullah with 23 sailors arrives in Ctg tomorrow


CHATTOGRAM: Finally, the anxiety and tension experienced by the family members of the Bangladeshi flag carrier ship MV Abdullah will come to an end tomorrow (Tuesday).
The ship was hijacked by Somali pirates on March 12 and released after 32 days on April 14,
MV Abdullah is expected to reach the waters of the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday morning (May 14).
The seamen will return in the afternoon, and the ship will arrive at the KSRM jetty at Sadarghat in the port city at that time.
In an interview with The Financial Express, Meherul Karim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KSRM Group and head of SR Shipping, stated, "With the safe return of the abducted seamen and the ship without any losses, KSRM can consider this incident successfully concluded."
KSRM Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Shahriar Jahan Rahat added, "The ship and crew were released after successful negotiations with the pirates. I am grateful to the Bangladesh government and all those involved for their support during this crisis. Fortunately, the seamen are now returning home safely."
The Bangladeshi flag carrier ship MV Abdullah, owned by SR Shipping, a subsidiary of the respected business group KSRM Group, was captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean while en route to the United Arab Emirates with coal from Mozambique on March 12.
