National Bank MD, DMD resign

The managing director (MD) of National Bank, Md Touhidul Alam Khan, and its deputy managing director(DMD), Abdul Matin, have resigned from their posts at the first-generation commercial bank.

Confirming the development, the chairman of the scheduled bank, Abdul Awal Mintoo, said that Mr. Alam's tenure was set to end on January 24, 2025, in accordance with the approval of Bangladesh Bank (BB).

The managing director submitted his resignation letter on December 7 and has been on leave since.

A week later, the deputy managing director also resigned.

"We have accepted their resignation letters. It is a normal process, and we have already begun the process of hiring a new managing director," he added.
