National Policy Competition 2025 conclude at JU

The final round of the 'National Policy Competition 2025', themed "Bangladesh's Foreign Policy in the Post-July Uprising: Redefining National Interest and Global Relations," was held at the Senate Hall of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday.
Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as part of the "Festival of Youth 2025," the event drew a larger number of students.
Out of 18 initial concept submissions, 15 teams advanced to the semi-final stage and five of them qualified for the final round.
"The July Uprising was a historic people's movement. Citizens from all walks of life raised their voices against the authoritarian rule and external dominance," Professor Dr Dilara Chowdhury, a prominent academic and political analyst, said while speaking at the event as the chief guest.
Presiding over the programme, JU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan said: "No one will bring change for us - we must change ourselves. The unity that ousted authoritarianism must not be lost.
At the end of the competition, the team comprising Khurshida Khan Trisha, Sumaiya Jahan Samanta, and Shomorita Barua was declared champion.
The first runner-up title went to the team comprising Humayra Tasnim Shammi, Sharif Meherab Hossain Jidan, and Tasnim Kader, while Samiha Akter Salma, Sumaiya Akter, and Mirza Sakir secured the second runner-up.
The winning teams were awarded cash prizes along with commemorative crests and lockets.
They will now represent Jahangirnagar University in the upcoming national round of the competition.
