Navy sues 98 as fortune seekers tell their stories

CHITTAGONG, Nov 19, (BSS): Two separate cases were filed against 98 Bangladeshi and Myanmar nationals two days after the rescue of nearly 600 people while being trafficked to a few Southeast Asian countries by sea.
A total of 16 citizens from both Bangladesh and Myanmar were accused of human trafficking in the first case while 82 Myanmar nationals were sued for illegal entry into Bangladesh in the second case.
Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, executive officer of the navy ship BNS Durjoy, lodged the cases with the Patenga police station on Wednesday morning.
The rescued 494 other fortune seekers were released in the morning, Patenga police sources said
