NBR cuts import duties on fresh fruits by 15pc

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has reduced import duties on fresh fruits by 15 per cent.
To this end, the revenue board issued two notifications on March 16 and another one on March 10, said a NBR press release on Monday night, reports BSS.
The NBR has issued two new notifications reducing the supplementary duty imposed at the import stage from 30 per cent to 25 percent and completely exempting the 5 percent advance tax imposed at the import stage.
Earlier, NBR reduced the existing AIT on fruit imports from 10 per cent to 5 per cent.
