The ministry of housing and public works has called upon the people to send their recommendations on the newly-drafted Dhaka city master plan prepared by the Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (RAJUK) by September 06, 2015, officials said.
The ministry in a circular issued last week requested the people to send their recommendations/suggestions aiming to finalise the draft master plan/mega plan of the capital. "People could send their recommendations on the master plan until September 06, 2015," said the official circular of the ministry.
People could see the copy of the draft master plan at the annex building of the RAJUK. After finalising the recommendations/suggestions, detailed area plan (DAP) will be prepared, according to the RAJUK.
The validity of earlier master plan/structure plan for 1,624 square kilometres (627 square miles) of the RAJUK will expire this year.
The city developer thinks that it would be wise to prepare a new master plan (2016-2035) before the expiry of the existing one. The RAJUK has drafted the master plan.
The circular of the ministry said if any affected person/organisation has any objection to the newly-drafted master plan, then recommendations/ objections should be sent by September 06, 2015, the circular mentioned.
"It is necessary to prepare a new master plan before the expiry of the existing one. Therefore, the RAJUK has prepared the draft master plan," said the circular of the ministry.
