Muktijoddha Peshajibi Janata Oikya Mancha, a platform of the organisations believing in the spirit of Liberation War, led by Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council, was formed on Sunday to 'raise their voice' against all kinds of violence, reports UNB.
It was announced at a press conference at the Jatiyo Press Club. Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council chairman Maj Gen (rtd) Helal Morshed Khan was made its convener.
Reading out a written statement, the convenor said the platform has been formed with some 92 organisations to protect the country's independence and sovereignty from any conspiracy as well as resist terrorism and arson attack on people and all modes of transport, and other forms of anarchy.
The organisers said committees of the Mancha will be formed later at union, upazila and district levels.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and State Minister for Science and Technology Yafes Osman also spoke on the occasion.
