NIMC training in fact-checking, verification

The National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) on Monday hosted a daylong training in fact-checking and verification techniques for women journalists.
The event was aimed at finding tools to check disinformation and misinformation in different types of news and social media contents.
Some 40 members of the Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra (BNSK) working in different print, electronic and online media houses participated in the training held in the NIMC conference room.
NIMC director general Nurun Nahar Hena inaugurated the training where BNSK president Nasimun Ara Haque, NIMC additional DG Faizul Haque, and directors AKM Azizul Huq and Nazrul Islam, among others, spoke.
Banglavision senior news editor Abu Rushd Mohammad Ruhul Amin conducted the training as a resource person.
