Nine Rajshahi mills produce Tk 3.16b sugar in FY 2006-07

PANCHAGARH, June 8: Nine sugar mills of Rajshahi division have produced sugar worth about Tk 3.16 billion (316 crore) in 2006-07 crushing season. Official sources said some 1,51,180 acres of land under the nine sugar mills areas were brought under sugarcane cultivation during the season. A total of 1,08,885 metric tonnes (mts) of sugar were produced. — UNB
