SATKHIRA, May 24 (UNB): Although nine years have elapsed since the deadly cyclone, Aila, hit the country's southwestern region, thousands of people in the affected areas were yet to be rehabilitated.
Survivors continue to struggle for food, habitation and safe drinking water, and fight with river erosion and unemployment.
As Aila made landfall, it ripped through a large swathe of territory covering some 11 districts of Bangladesh on May 25, 2009.
