The fate of last two DC-10 passenger aircraft has become uncertain as the Biman Bangladesh Airlines is yet to get any suitable buyer for them even after floating of international tender on three occasions.

The Biman board of directors would now re-consider its decision as to whether they would sell the aircraft or scrap them locally, officials of the airlines told the FE.

Earlier, the Biman authorities decided to sell the aircraft rather than scrapping them locally considering it the better option and invited international tender accordingly.

Biman commercial store manager ABM Alamgir told the FE that they got one response from the first tender and did not accept it as it did not fulfil the criteria.

"We floated tender three times, but we did not get any suitable buyer," he said.

Mr Alamgir said the deadline for the third tender also expired on July 8 and now they were waiting for the decision of Biman board.
