No change in fuel oil prices for July

The government has kept the fuel prices unchanged for July despite their recent fall in the international market.
According to a notification of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) issued on Tuesday, the retail price of diesel will remain unchanged at Tk 115 per litre, octane at Tk145, petrol at Tk 140, and kerosene at Tk 135.
Previously, these prices were set through a similar notification issued on May 31, 2026 for June. Under the new decision, the current rates will remain effective from July 1.
Sources said state-run Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) incurred loss worth around Tk 170 billion over the past several months since the Middle East war ensued on February 28 as it sold oil at lower prices in domestic market after importing the fuel at higher prices from the international market.
