No deaths, 50 new Covid cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh has reported no deaths from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

The government recorded 50 new Covid-19 cases during the same period.

With the latest figures, the overall caseload now stands at 1,952,412 while fatalities at 29,126, according to official statistics of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest number of infections came from medical screening of a total of 5,545 samples across the country at 879 labs and infection rate was 0.9 per cent.

During the same period of time, another 331 people recovered from the viral disease across the country taking the total recovery to 1,891,528.

The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.88 per cent and the mortality rate remains at 1.49 per cent.
