None dies of Covid for four straight days

Bangladesh has reported no death from the coronavirus for four consecutive days with recording some 56 new cases in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.

According to the latest figures released by the health directorate, the total number of infections stands at 1,951,770 while the total death toll due to the respiratory disease caused by the virus remained static at 29,122.

A total of 7,087 samples were tested in 879 labs across the country in the 24-hour period yielding a daily positivity rate of 0.79 per cent.

A total of 596 people recovered from Covid-19 during the same period, taking the total recoveries to 1,883,510.

The latest figure put the recovery rate at 96.50 per cent and the mortality rate at 1.49 per cent.
