A fire that broke out in a pigeon farm burnt to ashes as many as 400 pigeons in Chawkbazar area of the old Dhaka city on Tuesday.
According to the fire service control room, the blaze that occurred around 6:05 pm due to electric short circuit engulfed the entire pigeon firm on the top floor of a two-storey building at Hossaini Dalan.
Around 400 pigeons out of total 800 at the farm were burnt to ashes in the fire.
Three firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 6:32pm.
