One dead as AL factions clash in Comilla

COMILLA, Nov 21 (UNB): An Awami League (AL) activist was killed and five others were injured in a clash between two factions of the ruling party over establishing supremacy in Kolakandi village under Titas upazila on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Riazul Karim Sentu, 40, son of Abdul Zabbar of the village.
Police said two groups, one led by Jubo League leader Ibrahim and another by union Awami League leader Bahar- got locked in a clash around
1:15 pm over establishing supremacy in the area.
They attacked each other with sharp weapons, leaving Riazul dead on the spot and five others injured.
On information, police rushed to spot and recovered the body.
Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan, officer-in-charge of Titas Police station, confirmed the incident.
