CHITTAGONG, July 12: A gold ornaments trader committed suicide in the city Friday night. He had been living with his family at Barua Bhaban of Anderkilla under Kotwali police station for a long time.

Kotwali police said Samir Das (48) hanged himself with the ceiling fan at his residence Friday night. The cause of his committing suicide could not be known immediately. But he might have done so as he failed to pay off the loan he had received from others to run his business.
