Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has said the multipurpose Padma Bridge will be constructed as per World Bank (WB) design even though the global lender pulled out of the project, reports UNB.
The minister was talking to journalists after a meeting with a three-member WB delegation at his office on Sunday.
Obaidul said, "I told them that the Padma Bridge will be constructed from the government's own fund but the bridge will follow the design of the World Bank".
There is no problem to work with the WB in other projects, he said.
