Persons in civil admn need proper knowledge about defence, says PM

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has underscored the need for having proper knowledge about the defence and the national security by the persons in the civil administration, reports UNB.

The PM expressed this view while addressing the 15th joint meeting of the governing bodies of National Defence College (NDC) and the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment on Wednesday.

Hasina said that in the present world, the area of the defence-meaning the national security-has widened manifold.

She said that apart from the concept of the existing state security, the security of the individual, economy, national prosperity and environment has been included in the national security.

"So, like the person in the defence force the people engaged in the civil administration should have proper knowledge about the defence and the national security."

The PM said the NDC and DSCSC, the country's two reputed educational institutions, are already well-known at home and abroad for providing quality and time-befitting education.
