Work on the pilot project for preparing voters' list with photograph and national identity (ID) card at Dania under Shyampur thana of the city began Thursday, reports UNB.
Chief of General Staff of Army Major General Sina Ibn Jamali inaugurated the project.
Registration for voters' list with photograph and national ID card of 88,477 residents of Dania area would be carried out over next 23 days until November 16, an ISPR release said.
The registration will be completed through 24 registration centres with the help of 140 laptops.
Bangladesh Army's 14 Independent Engineer Brigade and 6 Independent ADA Brigade will extend all-out cooperation to the Election Commission for successful implementation of the pilot project.
Dhaka City Corporation, district administration and local public representatives would also provide assistance to implement the project.
