In a scathing attack on the Prime Minister (PM) for what she said making derogatory remarks about BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, its joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Wednesday Sheikh Hasina deserves a doctorate degree on falsehood and propaganda, reports UNB.
"The Prime Minister through lobbying by her own people earned many  doctorate degrees earlier without carrying out any research, but she rightly deserves a doctorate degree on falsehood and propaganda for her outstanding skill in it," he said.
The BNP leader made the remarks while addressing a press briefing at party's Nayapaltan central office.
Referring to media reports, Rizvi alleged that PM Sheikh Hasina at a recent meeting said Ziaur Rahman had established 'curfew-democracy' during 1975 to 1986. "Ziaur Rahman was a name-only freedom fighter who worked as the cohorts of the defeated forces capturing power after 1975."
Reacting to the remarks, Rizvi said the nation is tired of hearing the PM's falsehood and lies. "She can't have a sound sleep without spreading malice against Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman, desh netri Begum Khaleda Zia and Zia family."
Mentioning that Sheikh Hasina is very expert in telling the white as black and the black as white, he expressed his doubt whether there is any one in the world with such skill.
Rizvi suggested the PM to read the book titled 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibke Ghire Kisu Ghatana and Bangladesh' written by her late husband Dr Wazed Miah.
In the book, the BNP leader claimed that Wazed Miah stated about the proclamation of the country's independence by Ziaur Rahman. "He also stated that he had prayed for Ziaur Rahman on that time."
