Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Saturday expressed her deep shock at the tragic deaths of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and others in a plane crash, reports UNB.
In a condolence message to her Polish counterpart Donald Tusk, Sheikh Hasina said: "I am deeply shocked and grieved to learn about the tragic death of President Lech Kaczynski and loss of many lives, including senior functionaries of the Polish government in a presidential plane crash in Russia."
She further said: "I am joined by the people of Bangladesh to stand by your Excellency, your government and the Polish people at this hour of grave national crisis and tragedy."
The Prime Minister on behalf of Bangladeshi people conveyed heart-felt condolences for the victims and deepest sympathies to the members of the bereaved families.
Polish President Lech Kaczynski and some of the country's highest military and civilian leaders died when the presidential plane crashed as it came in for a landing in thick fog in western Russia on Saturday, killing 96.
