PM to open train movement Oct 10

Train movement from Dhaka to Bhanga through the Padma Bridge will start next month as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate it on October 10.

Prior to the inaugural ceremony, Bangladesh Railway (BR) will conduct the trail run of a train from Kamlapur station on September 7.

The BR is developing the 170-kilometre rail track from Gandaria, Dhaka to Jeshore through the Padma Multipurpose Bridge under its Padma Bridge Rail Link project.

Under the project, it has built the rail track up to Bhanga in the first phase.
