Police are bound to serve people

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional commissioner (Crime and Operations) S N Md Nazrul Islam said on Sunday that people have the rights to get services and police are bound to serve the people.

He made the observation while addressing a view-exchange meeting with the local residents at Mahbub Ali Auditorium at Shahjahanpur in the capital.

He said youths of the country have created a new chapter of Bangladesh with the ouster of autocratic ruler Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2025.

"We have to realise the dreams that were nurtured by the martyrs of the July-August 2024 mass uprising. We have to build a new Bangladesh," he vowed.

He called upon all citizens to play due roles from their respective positions in this regard.

He requested the people to abide by the law and at the same time to encourage others to stay respectful to the law.

Representative of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement Md Morshedul Islam called upon all to build a Bangladesh free from corruption, malpractice and misrule.
